The Importance of Serifs in Typefaces
The idea that the use of a typeface affects its form struck our writer as incredibly relevant still in the modern day. Times New Roman is almost a century old and it made the jump from print to digital. Serifs are those little dealy-bops at the end. The average viewer or the average reader only spends about 11 seconds reading an email and around 60 seconds reading a 20-page proposal, so since we're kind of living in a culture of scanning, the more legible, the better.
