The term productivity was high jacked by the industrial evolution, particularly by a guy named frederick winslow taylor. A lot of the modern theories of personal productivity that there rooted in these principles of factory management. The problem is still treating people like machines, just like the industrial revolution reduced people to cogs in a machine. We should still be viewing productivity in an ag cultural sense, like a productive fruit tree.
