Is Reason a Slave of the Passions?

Hume is infamous for saying that reason ought only to be the slave of the passion. Anyou say that that's actually taken out of context by many people, or at least representing a philosophical approach that shouldn't be attributed. So this is sensib of a synoptic process that seems to be happening, according to hume and his colleagues. And certain other people who identify as sentimentalists, because they do adopt this kind of psychological wholism, adopt the diametrically opposed rhetorical strategy: rather than detegrating reason, they re define it.
