The Role of Interpretation Time in Diagnostic Error Rates
Case group consisted of 564 studies and the control group was about twice as much. Tests were interpreted by 16 unique neuroadiologists with 1 to 41 years of post-fellowshoop experience. The frequency of diagnostic error was 34% on weekdays versus 45% on weekends. Longer interpretation times may be related to greater complexity of such exams, authors say.
