Every time the cap has been raised in modern history, it's because some crisis is afoot. Silicon Valley Bank would still have been 90 plus percent uninsured if there was no deposit cap at all. If you want to send a message that you're doing something real, then fiddling around with the deposit cap and moving it from one six figure sum to another six figure sum will not make any difference. It's just that you want to trust.
