The Importance of Preserving White Matter Core Bundles

White matter tracks are critical, maybe even more critical than the cortex and it seems a DTI or track tracing has a huge role in surgical planning as far as this is concerned. So you have to preserve those and we spend actually truly more time and map DTI more often I would like to call it tractography. You can get very useful information out of the symmetry of tract probabilities. Ideally even an epilepsy surgery you wouldn't just look at fMRI you would look at the fiber press space if there's an asymmetry between the hemispheres right in terms of resting state.
