Schopenhauer's Redeeming From Willless Contemplation
Schopenhauer thinks that the world we live in is will. Our senses represent the world to us, an our mind applies the principle of sufficient reason such that we construct this whole world that exists in our minds. A, you know, the actual world as it exists, in opinion of the human mind, is just pure will. We can't even really conceive of that. Ah, but the world in which we live is just representation. All of these, the sense objects we experience, theyre just our representations. And thus, schopenhauer, he thinks that in aesthetics, in the arts, it renders the world to them such that we can enjoy the representation of it
