How to Write a Good Plot Twist

Every book I write has plot twists that come off well and poorly in the alpha and beta stage. The big distinction as a writer for me comes in making sure that my foreshadowing is appropriate. Sometimes I have too much, sometimes I have not enough. You can't fool everybody and you're not going to and you really shouldn't try.
