Each of these words are words that I have seen use quite regularly in professional communication and even day-to-day communication. So my belief is that it should become part of every non-native English speakers vocabulary, especially if you're in professional communication. Like it says between like, despite and in spite of and the other useful linking words. But for example, so instead of saying although and even though which are pretty informal and used really for verbal communication, you would use the word despite or in spite of.
