In the early 50s, Sanders attended a restaurant convention in Chicago. He met Pete and Arlene Harmon, who owned a restaurant in Salt Lake City. The couple invited Sanders to visit their home if he ever happened to one day find himself in the Utah area. A few years later, that was the case, so Sanders dropped in. They watched as he darted around their kitchen like a mad scientist.
