What Role Should Free Trade Play in a Development Economy?
i want to ask you about something that i think has been controversial in development economics. What role should protect nism play, or putting in place tariffs or other things that restrict imports? And i bring it up because there is kind of a long tradition of developing countries including germany and japan restricting imports for high tech industries. So this seems like it's a big part of the so called east asian economic miracle.
