Is the Purpose of the Narrator a Complaint Against the Gods?

In the first chapter, leuis says she will accuse the gods of mistreating her. This has something in common with invective, though a an invective usually is not a book length exercise tit's usually fairly, fairly short. And i thought it was so interesting that she said, i can do this because i already have lost everything. But other people can't do it because of their fear of the gods. That reminds me of osophocles, let no man call himself happy until he is dead,. Because if you're happy, the gods can take it away from you.
