Subcutaneous ICD or Transvenous ICD?
A subcutaneous ICD has a higher rate of bleeding associated with implant compared to transvenous ICD. A high body mass index patients tend to have a higher incidence of bleeding, according to the Praetorian sub-study. So if this is a large patient, we may consider staying away from sub cutaneous ICD. If this is an average-sized patient who passes in two vectors, I think it could be argued that a subcutsaneous ICD may be a better system for this patient.
