horizontal gene transfer is the introduction of a gene from one species into another. It doesn't have very often and it shouldn't but it happens where you get microbes uh... viruses or bacteria that end up transfering dn a from one species to another so it does happen in animals. A huge about half of the cows genome has come from snakes and it came from snakes by ticks well these don't do anything right they just copies itself.
Shermer and Cobb discuss: objections to genetic engineering (political, religious, cultural) • selective breeding • recombinant DNA • the ethics of genetics • patenting life • gene therapy • gene editing • CRISPR • literature and films on the dangers of genetic engineering • bioweapons • 3 Laws of Behavior Genetics and what people fear about it.
