The Rise of Investment Banking Fees

Investment banking fees are normalizing in a weaker range than large pre-pandemic levels. Fixed income trading is really the story this year, but also last year as well. M&A continued to be very strong last year, and now we're seeing that weakness and that turning to a headwind. And so the other trend we're seeing at banks is that they're starting to right-size their staffing to these weaker levels.
