When you go to china, there are a lot of fongen around you. Even if it's not fongen, there are like, accent slash dialectual differences. People speaking mandarin and jing speak it in a slightly different way than when they speak in shahi. It's useful to know that the local one is influencing the pronunciation of the people around you. And it's also kind of a choice that you have to make as a learner.
