Russia seems to be interpreting current events, not through some kind of future lens, but through the lens of historic events. Russia is stuck into this very sort of ancient idea of physical assets, territories, geographies. And to some extent, that seems to be driving some of its aggression and imperialism. The evolution of Russian policy towards Ukraine was exactly that. There was a chance of soft power before 2014. Then since February of last year 2022, it's a primary hard power. So in many ways, it's the end of Russian power, or Russian world. That's why it's a very important fight about that.
