Julianna's Story
Julianna Repage survived the plane crash that claimed her mother's life in 1972. She was left for dead, but managed to survive by pouring gasoline into her wound and using a cot as a makeshift bed. Her story was documented by world-renowned filmmaker Warner Herzog in a picture he titled Wings of Hope. After recovering from her injuries, Julianna returned to Peru to carry out research on bats. In 2000, she became the director of the Penguina Research Station following the death of her father.
