Los Angeles - A Brief History of the Riots
Rioting spread across south centra alais and other parts of the city. Liquor stores, grocery stores,. retail shops and fast food restaurants were loot destroyed and tortued. The smoke in the air was so thick that flights heading into los angeles airport had to be rerouted. Over the next several days, more than 11 hundred marines, 600 army soldiers and 65 hundred national guard troops would patrol the streets. On the third day of rioting, hundreds of reporters gathered outside the office of a beverly hill's lawyer to hear rodney king make a public statement about the chaos.
