I wasn't a convert when I was an experiment on myself. The thing that struck me and that I was most interested in is trying to explore whether there were differences in how different people adapted to barefoot running. When you take your shoes off in your barefoot, your ankle points down, it's called plant deflection,. Think ballet dancer a little bit more. So you get cushioning as a consequence of how you change, how you land. Makes sense.
