The State of Matter

Genevieve: Not everything fits into a category that we'd like it to fit into. So what do you reckon, solid-liquid or gas? Neither. We get about one kilowatt per square meter coming from the sun towards us. It's another state of matter where the energy is moving through space but only a very small amount of the energy is in the wire. In winter when you plug in a little heater and you can feel the wire going between the power point and the heater getting warm. There's more energy traveling in the air in a space around it, whether it's air or not.
