Do All Projects Need a Concept?

i feel as if you ere hired as an architect to design a building, people are expecting more from you than just solving a basic problem. You have the abilityof synthesizing things to other, like understanding at a bigger level than they are able to. Well, does do all projects need a concept? I don't know. But i think overon should strive to have a concept. It keeps you in check.
