"We really wanted the sound to bring up the character of volcanoes," says director Sarah Jacoby. "It was essential for us that volcanoes felt alive, not necessarily anthropomorphized,. They had their own being in a way." The film's two editors did a tremendous amount of workload building some of the initial sounds early on in the edit.
