How Did You Manage the Disappointment?

You applied to several doctoral programmes, got rejected by all. How did you manage that? Mostly i panicked because i didn't have another plan. So i sat up an intern ship for myself, a working at the state house in massachusetts. And there had been a politician whose campaign i had volunteered on. I set it up to be an unpaid intern in his basement office in the in the massachusetts state house for a semester. It kind of bought me some time and bought me a little experience on my resume that i figured i could leverage to something afterwards.
