A study showed that in self driving cars, they have these models that predict where pedestrians are going to go and where pedestrians are. And those models actually perform worse if you have darker skin, controlling for the time of day, how light it is,. than if you have lighter skin. Another one was when amazon was piloting a new hiring algar them. So they want to see, hay, can we design and augar them, given a resume, tries to predict whether rnot we should hire them? A lot of the faces that come up, or white mails, the data that you're learning on, is not representative.
