On March 30th 1981 president Ronald Reagan was rushed by the Secret Service to George Washington University Hospital after taking a bullet to the chest. The attempt on Reagan's life would come to define the first term of his presidency. He would not only survive the shooting but emerge from it as the most popular president in a generation and usher in a new era of conservative political dominance.
