Art Is a Thing Unto Itself
If you celebrate and elevate art that tells you your founding is evil, you will have riots in the streets. The left knows this. If, on the other hand, you tell stories which convey to you something real and true and good about your country, then you are on your way to a healthy society. Think out the myth of washington and the cherry tree. That's human art in the service of politics. Art is essential to our humanity. It's at the root of who we are. And if we can't create a regime that allows artists to be artists, whether we are, you know, coming down on them from the left or coming down on us from the right,
