I find so much of america dispiritingly ugly, but i've learned to prefer that. That it keeps our minds open other things. And the towns that are in a way picture perfect, like ghent or bruge, or bergin, norway, where i just was, ah, that's stultifying. To grow up in paris, maybe now, at this point is limiting.
