The Invisible Presence of Christ

Mark O'Mara says he grew up in a church where children were beaten with wooden spoons and whipped if they misbehaved. The Watch Tower expected them to act like adults, which was very unhealthy for young people who feared their elders so much that they didn't speak out about abuse or neglect. He believes many of the scandals within the organization have been covered up by those at the watch tower over the past few decades. A number of ex-Elders are now speaking out against what they see as an abusive culture inside the movement.
