The Goody Glover Story, by Cotton Mather

In 1688, four children of a Boston family by the name of Goodwin began to show unusual symptoms. They cried out that they were being attacked by their neighbor, an elderly Irish immigrant named Goody Glover. After a long trial, Goody Glover was convicted of witchcraft and hanged in Boston. Cotton Mather had a passion for collecting these sorts of tales and publishing them as a sort of warning to the pious.
