The Story of Eumenes and the Partition of Babylon
Eumenes was given a large province, or satrape, to govern. He hoped he could help his own home town of cardea out by getting rid of a local tyrant that had taken over it once he established himself. The greater part of his satrape, a region called capadocia, was held by an old persian governor who refused to concede to the new macedonian regime. These territories had actually never been controlled or pacified by the macedonians after alexander's conquest. But one man who loved him dearly did his best to secure his dead friend's legacy.
