The Importance of Discussions on the Magisterium

I would expect that within a few decades we'll have a magisterial document that basically confirms the majority, at least the majority of what we've said here in this discussion. That's one of the reasons I think it's important to have these discussions so that people don't get caught off guard by that. If you have the magisterium come out in 10 or 20 or 50 years and say, actually you don't, that would be very disorienting for people. It could cause them a lot of cognitive dissonance.
