The Role of Emotions and Feelings in Psychology

There's sort of a cultural idea that emotions are sort of dispensable things. And so many programs of life like people's attempts at Buddhism or stoicism, come with a certain disrespect towards emotions and I think this is the wrong way to view things. These emotions exist because they play an enormous role in motivating our behavior. Gratitude motivates us to spend more time and reciprocate kindness from others. guilt motivates us not to do bad thing over again. Even negative emotions like fear and anxiety play a critical role.
