And just when people needed electricity the most, the electric grid lapsed. Only a few people in the whole island had electricity. Forty two year old ada ramona miranda alvaralo was one of them. She feared that both food and medicine would expire without electricity so she turned her home into a kind of energy oasis by creating a refrigeration centre for her community.
