Trujillo and the Dominican Republic

Trujillo commissioned songs to be composed in his honor with titles like Faith and Trujillo. In person, Trujillo was all oily, saturing confidence, but he was less stable than he liked to pretend. By 1937, the Dominican Republic was nearly insolvent. International assistance then had become absolutely necessary.
