Is There a Commitment to Science Fiction?

I think there are plenty of stories out there that are written with certain intentions or certain messages to convey and I think that when you read them you can kind of peel that layer back and see okay this is just making a very specific point here. A lot of fables are deliberately written to teach so they do have a message and I get that but not all stories are that way precisely. There's no other way to represent that human experience other than through a story, says Dickens.
