The Chief Priests' Interpretation of Micah 5
"What's going on in Micah is an expectation, a predictive prophecy that when the Lord fully restores his people from exile, the Messiah is going to come," he says. "I don't think explicitly messianic in the time it was written." The way Matthew introduces the Isaiah 7, 14 quotation is different from the way he introduces the Micah 5 passage,.
