The Flooding of Hassan
The region is completely flooded. The easiest way I can describe it, really, is to imagine, invite listeners to think of a kind of Venice, but with a sort of Soviet touch. A lot of the flooding is in Hassan's outlying suburbs where most of them are big old Soviet housing blocks from the 1970s and 1980s. And you've got motorboats sailing up and down trying to rescue people who are stranded rather than the gondoliers that you might have in someone like Venice. It's a very strange picture indeed.
