The Speed of Brain Plasticity
The word echolocation was first coined in an article in the journal Science. Researchers at McGill University took several adults who had recently lost their sight into a brain scanner. The sounds caused activity in auditory cortex and occipital cortex, which is normally what we would think of as visual cortex.
