Noble Blood
00:00
Jacques Legree and the Burning Men
Jacques legree was accused of raping his wife Marguerite. Jean carouge took the case to France's king, charles the sixth. Legree had an alibi and a lawyer who doubted he was as innocent as he claimed. The court deliberated for two days before ruling in favour of legree. But they could not come to a verdict because there were no witnesses. It would have been trial by combat rather than non-controversy.
