We're Dying in the Baktor

The story of Marie, a little girl who prayed for rain to save her family's harvest. Her mother was too infirmed to carry much water off the steep path and would not help unless some of her own goblin friends did it. A peasant returning late at night had seen something white, flitting to and fro in the garden patch; when he called to it, saw it vanished most mysteriously. This made quite a stir in town. Others watched also. Saw the white phantom in the starlight, and could not tell where it went when it vanished behind the chest on trees on the hill. People wondered and shook their hands, but could not explain it.
