The First New Religious Secular Group in the United States
The first new religious group, or new religious sect to arise in colonial america was the so called rogerins. They were led by a man named john rogers who argued that there really shouldn't be any observant observance of the sabbath and you should treat every day as equally holy. John elderkin also built the first merchant vessel to be constructed in connecticut, and it was called the new london trial. The word trial was one of the common words at that time for an alchemical test or experiment.
