When I first was picked up by Dan books, I was a young writer in the boonies of Ohio. Publishing wasn't actually like that, so it's been a series of little dissolutions and all the way along. Ford is my books, he kept my books in print. One interesting thing about Bain as a publisher is that they've released a lot of their titles for free in the Bain Free Library. But Jim developed his writers. He was willing to give them a chance. And when I turned in a book that was 167,000 words long, he said, we'll find the papers somewhere, which is sort of what my heart. So it was an interesting character.
