The Heller Case and the Supreme Court

In 1959, Gallup found that 60% of Americans favored banning handguns. In 1975, it was 41%. By 2012, it was 24%. Just before this case comes down, 73% of Americans believe the Second Amendment protected the individual's right to possess weapons. When it did come down, Barack Obama, then presidential candidate, spoke in favor of the decision.
