The Reality of Rejection in Friendship
I think the reality of rejection is a bit more explicit in the dating world but it's been really helpful for me to come to accept that it's going to happen in friendship too. You know, maybe the other person doesn't want to increase intimacy and consistency with you or you don't want to do that with them. And sometimes other times it's just not a high enough priority for them even if they do like you and they do value your friendship. I was actually actively trying to meet a few more close friends right before my son started having seizures two years ago and then I just totally stopped trying at all.
