The Half Marathon Cycle

Half marathons are much easier to train for and recover from than full marathons. While you can cessfully race them more often, you still need to include training segments that focus on the opposite ends of the spectrum - speed and arobic development. Here's what a yearly half marathon cycle might look like: From january to march, do some five k or ten k training, or work on building your mile. In july, head back into a speed phase. And finally, november and december are for recovery and general fitness.
