How to Read the Bible to Hear God's Voice
Lectio Divina is a form of reading the Bible prayerfully and devotionally. Bread is an acronym taking those same movements from Latin into English because no one speaks Latin anymore. It's a dead language, so it seemed helpful. Read scripture this way for hearing God's voice. First, be still. And then encounter. What do I notice? Don't judge it; don't question it not yet. Just notice what jumps off the page to you from this portion of scripture. Then go back and read the passage again. Try to focus in on that bit that stands out or connect dots as to why and what God might be speaking to you through it.
