The Cosmological Constent Is Just a Number

The best description we have, which passes the most experimental test, is called quantum field theory. It says that what electron really is is a ripple in a field - and as that ripple travels, that appears to us to be an electron. When you then feed that into general relativity, into gravity, it will act like a cosmological constant -- making expansion of universe accelerate.
