The Battle of Cactus on August 24th 1942
Marion Carl was a battle experienced lieutenant from Hubbard, Oregon by the name of Marion Carl. He had been he's combat experience, which is a rarity among the marine aviators aboard cactus. Carl tangled with at least four enemy fighters shooting down one while damaging a further two. A couple of days later on August 24th, this is what happens during the battle, this is the battle east from Solomon's. The Jai Green is a famous photo of all those Japanese soldiers dead at Tenerue River, also known as Alligator Creek. And if they had been victims of the strafing, they would have been cut up pretty bad.
