A Bee's Knees, Slash, Cat's Pajamas

Banting is a term used to explain why someone didn't get sick when others did. The word comes from the late eighteenth century and means something that doesn't exist. It became part of this sort of fanciful slang of the people of the roaring twenties, meaning things that were great.
